CONFIDENTIALITY

Confidentiality is a cornerstone of the therapeutic relationship. Your information is legally protected and private, and will only be shared with others if you provide explicit permission.
Protecting your privacy is a top priority, and there are only a few exceptions to this rule:
-
Risk of self-harm: If you indicate that you may harm yourself, I will work with you to assess your safety and develop a proper plan to support your well-being.
-
Risk of harm to others: If there is an indication that you may harm someone else, I am legally required to notify the appropriate authorities and the intended victim.
-
Suspected abuse: If there is suspected abuse of a child, elder, or dependent person, I am a Mandated Reporter and legally required to make a report.
-
Clinical supervision: Occasionally, cases may be reviewed in supervision settings. These reviews are conducted privately and respectfully, without sharing any identifying client information.
Maintaining client confidentiality and privacy is essential to building a safe, trusting therapeutic environment.
